SamCERA Announces Election of Jesus Garcia to Board of Retirement

We are pleased to announce the results of the San Mateo County Employees’ Retirement Association (SamCERA) special election have been certified. Jesus Garcia has been elected to serve as the Safety Member Seventh Seat on the SamCERA Board of Retirement.
The special election was held on August 10, 2026 to fill the unexpired term of the Seventh Member seat. Garcia will serve the remainder of the term, which ends June 30, 2027. This is his first time serving on the SamCERA Board of Retirement.
Garcia is currently a Correctional Officer with the Sheriff’s department and has worked with the Sheriff’s department for 7 years. Please join us in congratulating him on his election to the SamCERA Board of Retirement and welcoming him to the Board.

The next scheduled SamCERA Board of Retirement election will take place in 2027. The following seats will be up for election:
- General Member Second Seat
- Safety Member Seventh Seat
- Safety Member Alternate Seat
